FSG’s wanted to scale inorganic growth by evolving its M&A strategy from opportunistic to programmatic.

Fiduciary Services Group (FSG) is a forward-thinking retirement services firm focused on growth through strategic acquisitions. The company’s M&A efforts are led by Christian Fulmino, Head of Corporate Development and M&A, who joined FSG with a mandate to significantly scale its inorganic growth strategy.
Prior to Christian’s arrival, FSG completed just one or two acquisitions per year—typically banker-led, opportunistic deals. Christian’s vision was to transform FSG into a programmatic acquirer, proactively sourcing and executing four to six deals annually.
FSG’s existing M&A approach lacked the structure, repeatability, and visibility required to support higher deal volume. Processes relied heavily on emailed documents, disconnected spreadsheets, and manual coordination between deal participants—making it difficult to scale without sacrificing quality.
To achieve its growth goals, FSG needed to evolve from opportunistic dealmaking to a disciplined, repeatable M&A engine—starting with a faster, more consistent due diligence process.

“If you’re only doing one or two deals a year, spreadsheets and email might be good enough. But if you’re looking to do multiple deals per year and build a repeatable, continuously improving M&A process—a solution like Midaxo delivers real value.”

To enable this shift, Christian implemented Midaxo, an end-to-end M&A management platform he had successfully used in prior roles.
Midaxo replaced FSG’s fragmented, manual workflows with a secure, centralized hub for all M&A data, documents, and activities. Christian initially focused the platform’s rollout on due diligence, recognizing it as the foundation for scalable M&A execution.
With Midaxo, FSG was able to:
The seamless linkage between diligence requests, responses, and supporting documents eliminated version-control issues and reduced time spent managing information—allowing the team to focus on evaluating risk and making informed decisions.

By standardizing and systematizing due diligence in Midaxo, FSG has built a faster, higher-quality, and more scalable M&A operation—one capable of supporting its programmatic acquisition strategy.
Key outcomes include:
Together, these gains give FSG a competitive edge—enabling the company to execute more deals per year without adding unnecessary complexity.
